A silvery Ganesh Chaturthi
Lord Ganesha, the elephant headed son of Lord Shiva and Parvati, is perhaps one of the most popular Gods even abroad. This beloved God, is believed to be the remover of all obstacles and prayers are offered to Lord Ganesha before the begining of a new task/event, in India.
I have seen most people who visit India, come back with little Ganesh idols, as gifts. Lord Ganesha’s prints and symbolic representations are extremely popular amongst western folks.
Back home, we loved Ganesh Chaturthi , for the sheer colour around you, not to mention the yummy Modaks. And I am missing it oh so much today. So this post on Silveratti is dedicated to all Ganesha devotees, on his birthday. This day is celeberated with great fervour amongst Indians, especially amongst the Maharashtrians, Ganesh Chaturthi being one of their main festivals.
Wishing everybody a lovely, festive, scintillating Ganesh Chaturthi. Ganapati Bappa Morya!
